We’re excited to kick off the Easter Holidays at Hazelhurst Farm, and what better way than starting Good Friday 29th March with a day of exploring the beautiful cycling routes of The New Forest?

What To Expect –

Steve Edmed of New Forest Cycling Tours will be on hand to personally guide you through some of the best trails in the area. Starting from 10:00am at the farm, you’ll head past the unmistakeable Sway Tower, which at 70 metres tall, remains the tallest non-reinforced concrete structure in the world.

Then it’s out onto the forest gravel tracks and the old railway line heading towards Brockenhurst. From here you’ll head to Rhinefield Ornamental Drive and Knightwood Oak, where you’ll see some of the oldest and tallest trees in The New Forest. Some of the giant sequoias are over 50 metres tall!

From there you’ll wind through more exciting trails on route to Burley, which is a beautiful little village and a must-see location for anyone visiting The New Forest. Here you can stop to refuel at Shappen Café with coffee and cake, before heading back down to the old railway line and heading across the heathland back towards the farm.

Bike Hire Made Easy

If you’re looking for things to do in The New Forest, bike hire is one of the best ways to have a fun packed day.

To ensure a seamless experience, we recommend hiring bikes from Cyclexperience in Brockenhurst. They offer a wide range of suitable bikes, including gravel, mountain, hybrids, and e-bikes, and can deliver your chosen ride directly to Hazelhurst Farm.

Simply book your bike at Cycleperience and remember that guests staying in our holiday cottages can use their Hazelhurst Guest Coupon for 10% discount when collecting from the shop.

If you can’t make it here for the guided tour dates but would like some help navigating a route during your stay in The New Forest, you can download a Free Route App for New Forest bike trails on the Cyclexperience website.

We look forward to seeing you all at the farm this Easter weekend!
